The MoEF has issued the new EIA 2006
Notification on 14.09.2006 in supersession of the EIA
1994 Notification. By this Notification, the Environmental
Clearance process for eight categories of Industries has
been decentralized up to the specified threshold. Thus
the SEIAA and SEAC were created for the States. For Karnataka
the Notification creating SEIAA and SEAC was issued on
11th June 2007. The SEIAA/SEAC commenced functioning from
10th August 2007
